The Standard Visitor route is for people who want to come to the UK for a short visit. This can include tourism, visiting family or friends, attending meetings, taking part in permitted business activities, short study, medical treatment or other permitted activities.

Visitors must normally show that they are genuine visitors, can support themselves during the trip and will leave the UK at the end of the visit.
